Computers (General): April 2006 Archives
It has been an idea of mine for a while but I haven't got to work on it until a week ago. This idea of mine is to place my local Mac server on a shelf of my desk. An otherwise unused shelf, that is.
There was a lonely 'ole B&W G3 that was lying around my room. It was the perfect choice for it. I thought about using the motherboard from my current server, the Beige G3 server, but decided I should use the B&W's instead. For my uses, the extra power from it won't be noticed at all but I wanted to anyway.
At the moment, it has been tested to make sure it works and its just waiting for me to put some sort of transparent panels on the opened sections of it. Plus, I have to make some sort of carriers for the hard drives and other drives. It will have to hold them safely over the motherboard because that is the only place for them. I also have to move the processor from the Beige over to it and to get some memory for it, at least 256MB (It would probably work with 128MB but I feel like more).
I'll update when I get it all together.

I found this computer while bebopping around on eBay. A nice one at that. I believe this had 4 200MHz PowerPC 604 chips in it. The price is going high for its age too. Mind you, if I had the money I would be bidding too.
